Pre-Operative Instructions

Important guidelines to follow before your oral surgery procedure.

Before Intravenous Sedation

•Fasting: Do not eat or drink anything for 8 hours before your scheduled surgery
•Smoking: Do not smoke for at least 12 hours before surgery
•Accompaniment: A responsible adult must accompany you and drive you home
•Driving: Do not drive for 24 hours after anesthesia
•Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing with short sleeves and flat, closed-toe shoes
•Remove: Contact lenses, jewelry, dentures, and removable dental work before surgery
•Minimal makeup: Avoid heavy makeup and nail polish
•Illness: Notify us if you are feeling ill before your appointment
•Medications: Disclose all medications you are currently taking
